Reading your e-mail on an Android phone such as a Samsung only takes a few steps to set up. Follow our guide below to configure your Gmail app on Android to work with your domain's e-mail.

QUICK GUIDE FOR EXPERIENCED USERS

  1. Create a new e-mail account on your phone and use the full email address as the username, with the password that has been supplied by support.
  2. mail server is IMAP, server address is mail.yourdomain.com
  3. Incoming port is 993, Outgoing port is 587
  4. Security is TLS (Accept all certificates)

DETAILED STEP BY STEP GUIDE

STEP 1

Click on the hamburger icon at the top left of the screen to open up Gmail options.

STEP 2

Now click on the arrow to reveal the Add New Account Option. Sometime this may appear as a gear icon.

STEP 3

Click ADD ACCOUNT on the following screen

STEP 4

When asked for the server type, please select IMAP. This ensures you can read your mail from all over your devices.

STEP 5

Enter your full e-mail address on the next screen, for example - johnsmith@mydomain.com

STEP 6

If asked again, specify IMAP account (not POP3) and enter your username and password when asked.

Your username is the FULL email address, ie johnsmith@mydomain.com

The password is supplied by our support staff by e-mail. When typing the password, be sure to include any special characters such as # and observe upper and lower case letters.

STEP 7

Now the techy bits! You have to specify the port and security type. As shown in the image below, the port must be set to 993 and the security type must be set to SSL/TLS (Accept all Certificates).

STEP 8

The next screen will confirm your incoming server settings. Check that the password is correct, and that the USERNAME is your FULL e-mail address.

STEP 9

For the Outgoing Server Settings the port should be set to 587 and the security type should be set to STARTTLS (accept all certificates), as shown in the image below.

That's it you are all set!
